St. Theresa Church Ministries

Discipleship means service in Jesus for others.  These are some of the ways you could serve our faith community

Hispanic Ministry

Maui has a vibrant Hispanic Community.  St. Theresa Church supports our hispanic parishioners by providing mass services and counciling.  Our mass services in Spanish are held on Saturday's at 7:00pm.  Rev. Wilson Buitrago is the Hispanic Ministry Director.

Eucharistic Ministers

Help distirbute the Body and Blood of Christ during Sunday and weekday services.  The also take the Blessed Sacrament to homebound prishioners.

Lectors

Proclaim the Word of God and make announcements during our liturgies.

Pastoral Council

The pastoral council members are called upon to reflect on the life of the parish in the light of the mission of the Church and to assist the pastor in bringing greater life and vibrancy to the parish.  If you are interested in joining the Pastoral Council, please read this flyer.  If you would like to nominate someone please download this flyer.  The Pastoral Council Guidelines which describe its purpose, membership, responsibilities, organization and manner of operation, can be downloaded here.

Liturgy/Environment

Planning the liturgy and decorating the Church according to the liturgical season.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a resoration of the ancient practice of initiation in the Church.  Focused on conversion, candidates entered an extended period of formation and probation.  The community ritually celebrated the conversion at various points on the journey, culminating with the celebration of baptism, confirmation and eucharist at the Easter Vigil.  An extended catechesis followed this to help the newly initiated to live the commitment they made: lives of justice, service and charity as witnesses of the reign of God.

Religious Education

Teachers, class aides, and office support needed to share our faith with children and adult parishioners.

Saturday Saints

Keeping buildings clean and maintain the landscape.  Care for the altar linens and vestments.

Hospital Ministry

The Visit and pray with the sick to console them, Eucharistic Ministeres to take the Blessed Sacrament to the patients.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry is designed to empower the youth in our parish community to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.  This program offers teens in Grades 9 -12 to gather with their peers to share their faith and have fun in a supportive atmosphere.  Teens are encouraged to participate in Youth Nights and Youth Mass, service projects, and Vicariate and Diocesan Youth events.
