St. Theresa Filipino Catholic Club

Compassionate Community Driven Servants

STFCC Now

Historically, the STFCC was founded to be more than just a social group. It was designed to keep our faith alive by ensuring traditional Filipino novenas—like the Misa de Gallo—remained a part of parish life. It began as a vital support system for immigrant families and a training ground for parishioners to step into leadership roles.

Today, the club remains serving as a bridge between our founding generations and the young Filipino-Americans of Maui. Whether we are organizing scholarship fundraisers or hosting community fellowships, we continue to honor the legacy of the plantation workers who built their lives here on faith and hard work.

Flores De Mayo

& Santacruzan

A blooming tribute to faith and tradition. Flores de Mayo (Flowers of May) is one of our most cherished annual celebrations, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary with floral offerings, song, and the colorful Santacruzan procession. It is a season where our heritage flourishes and our community gathers in joyful devotion.

Originating in the Philippines in the mid-1800s, this festival is more than a pageant; it is a 'Queen of Flowers' celebration that weaves together Catholic piety and Filipino hospitality. At STFCC, we take pride in passing this legacy to the next generation on Maui.

Misa De Gallo

Misa de Gallo, or Mass of the Rooster, is a cherished novena of dawn masses leading to Christmas. In the quiet hours before sunrise, starting at 5 am except on Sundays, our community gathers at St. Theresa to honor the Blessed Mother and prepare our hearts for the birth of Christ through prayer, song, and shared fellowship.

Sponsor!

Our traditions are kept alive through the generosity of our community. Being an STFCC sponsor is a beautiful way to offer your time, talent, and treasure in devotion. Sponsors play a central role in our celebrations, representing the hands and hearts of our parish.

• The Offertory Procession: Sponsors are invited to process with the gifts during the Mass, a symbolic offering of our community’s labor.

• Public Recognition: Your family will be formally acknowledged during the parish announcements at the conclusion of the Mass.

• Shared Fellowship: In the true Filipino spirit of Bayanihan, sponsors contribute a potluck dish to the community meal following the service.
